Oval Decks

This was a job for a client who had their garden designed by a landscape gardener. Unfortunately they couldn’t then find anyone willing or able to build them all the beautiful oval shapes and curves she’d designed!

There was quite a bit of design work on this one, I was working to the designers overall dimensions but had to figure out the rest as I went. The challenge was to work with the slopes in the garden whilst ensuring all the decks and steps finished up at a comfortable pitch.

Cutting the ellipses was especially satisfying, it’s always fun when you get to use your secondary school maths on a job!
