Pergola
This was a commission from a nice couple from Belfast who wanted to make their most of their garden in the Northern Irish summer.
The customer had a very clear vision about a curved roof over the space. but a more common roof which sloped outwards would restrict the light and make it difficult to meet building regulations around maximum permitted heights of garden structures. I designed the pergola with a gentle slope down into the corner so that it is in effect a section of a very shallow cone. The water drains away from a hole built into the roof which also removes the need for ugly guttering around the outside edge.
