There is a fundamental human instinct to build spaces to be, to sit on, to shelter under. When it’s done right you’re drawn to those spaces and they make you feel instantly at ease; ‘this structure is supposed to be here and I am meant to be standing under it’.
Thats always my goal when building a structure; that it just looks right and you can’t imagine the space could be any other way.
Often this means working embracing natural features and being sensitive to existing architecture and materials.
